Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF)- Team Builders TEAM BUILDERS and Sed de Saber™ Created by HBI, the workforce development arm of the National Association of Home Builders, in partnership with HHF’s “Latinos on the Fast Tract” (LOFT) initiative, TEAM BUILDERS was created in 2006 to introduce Hispanic college students to managerial positions in the home building industry. Sed de Saber™-Construction Edition was developed by HBI in partnership with Lowe’s to address the need for English language training for Spanish-speaking workers on the job site. Breaking the language barrier prevents job site injuries and fatalities, improves quality of construction, and boosts worker loyalty and overall morale. Lowe’s will sponsor the TEAM BUILDERS effort this summer by providing the opportunity for LOFT members to help Hispanic workers learn English using Sed de Saber™-Construction Edition learning systems. Eight college students of Hispanic descent and desire to help their community will volunteer in four cities, starting in June. They will serve as guides for Hispanic workers by meeting with students to ensure success.
